電子煙商就是菸商

2005年電子煙上市之初並未引起太大注意,但隨其吸食便利、法律空窗,加上2011年跨國菸草公司介入併購大品牌的電子煙廠後,電子煙商的廣告行銷策略,皆沿用過去百年在歐美國家行銷紙菸的相同手段推銷電子煙。
過去菸商慣用一些行銷技倆來誘惑青少年族群吸菸(詳情請見肺臟基金會專區)。現在電子煙商以「電子煙是吸菸者減害的選擇」、「電子煙可幫助戒菸」等似是而非的口號誤導民眾,用「電子煙無害」、「電子煙不是菸」引誘青少年嘗試,更以李奧納多狄卡皮歐、女神卡卡等好萊塢明星為其廣告代言...,這些行銷可能導致從未吸菸過的青少年開始嘗試電子煙或是本應戒菸的民眾卻改抽電子煙,菸商同時可賺取電子煙與紙菸的利潤,犧牲的卻是民眾的荷包與健康。
